Dante Alighieri’s The Inferno
Graphic Design
The Inferno is the first part of Dante Alighieri’s Italian epic, The Divine Comedy, a classic allegorical tale of sin and salvation. This translation by Mary Jo Bang spins a contemporary twist on this journey through the nine circles of Hell, rife with humor and pop culture references.
The book cover’s image has been entirely crafted out of a deep red card stock, painstakingly carved tier by tier to illustrate the bottomless chasm through which Dante travels.
